A safe first enquiry

Please share only your contact details, the broad location and the service you are interested in. Do not email diagnoses, care plans, medication records, safeguarding accounts or other sensitive documents as an initial enquiry. Ask the team to arrange an appropriate secure route if detailed information is needed.

Telephone and email are the contact routes on this website. There is no online enquiry form. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.

Share feedback

Tell us what worked well, suggest an improvement or share a concern. Individuals, families, advocates and professionals can contact Essex first on 01206 890904 or info@caregiversltd.co.uk; for Derbyshire, use 01629 380879 or info.eastmid@caregiversltd.co.uk.

For email feedback, use the subject “Feedback”. Start with your contact details, the relevant service and a brief description. Ask the team for a secure route before sharing confidential care information. Feedback is not automatically permission to publish a testimonial.

Make a complaint

You can raise a complaint with a member of staff, by telephone, by email or in writing to your branch using the contact details above. For Essex, contact Colchester on 01206 890904 or info@caregiversltd.co.uk; for Derbyshire, contact Matlock on 01629 380879 or info.eastmid@caregiversltd.co.uk. Ask for the Registered Manager and a copy of the service’s complaints procedure. For an email, use the subject “Complaint”.

Explain which service your complaint concerns, a brief outline of what went wrong and how you would like to be contacted. Ask who will handle your complaint, when to expect a response and how to request a review if you remain unhappy. Arrange a secure way to share sensitive records rather than attaching them to an initial email.

You can ask a family member or advocate to support you. Tell the team if you need help to complain, an interpreter or information in an accessible format.

Our response times

We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days of receiving it, identify who is handling it and explain the next steps and expected response date. We aim to provide a full written response within 20 working days of receipt. If more time is needed, we will explain why before that target date, give you an update and provide a revised response date. These are our service standards; any applicable statutory or commissioner requirements also apply. Safety concerns are acted on immediately.

Ask for a review

If you are unhappy with the response, or your complaint concerns the person handling it, for Essex or Derbyshire services, contact HR at HR@caregiversltd.co.uk with the subject “Complaint escalation”. HR coordinates escalated complaints, involving a suitably experienced senior care manager for care-quality concerns. Wherever possible, the review will be handled by someone independent of the original complaint. Care-management and safeguarding responsibilities remain with the appropriate responsible people.

In your first email, give your contact details, the relevant service and any complaint reference. Ask for a secure route before sending confidential care records or sensitive documents.

For adult social care, the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman explains independent complaint options, including privately funded care, after the provider or council has had a fair chance to respond. The CQC complaints guidance explains how to share concerns; CQC does not resolve individual complaints on your behalf.

For children’s social care, contact the responsible service or placing local authority and read Ofsted’s guidance on raising concerns. Ofsted uses information to inform inspection and regulation; it does not investigate individual grievances.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. For other safeguarding concerns, contact the relevant local authority safeguarding team. Do not wait for a website enquiry or routine complaints response.

Policies and statements

Privacy and cookies · Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement 2024–2025.

Contact the relevant branch to request the complaints procedure or policy information for the service you use.

Report a safeguarding concern

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. For a non-emergency police matter, call 101. Do not wait for a routine complaint or an email response if someone may be at risk.

Safeguarding concerns include suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation or unsafe restrictions. You do not need to prove that harm has happened before raising a concern. You can contact the relevant council directly, including when your concern is about Care Givers.

Use the safeguarding route for the area where the person lives. Adult and children’s reporting routes are different. The official pages below explain public and professional reporting, including urgent and out-of-hours contact details.
